Move over Daily Deals; Make Room for MyGiftWand DailyGifts

Melville, NY - (June 27, 2012) - Today, GroupGifting.com, the social gifting service, announced the official launch of their MyGiftWand DailyGifts™ service. Each day the company releases a limited number of free eGift Cards which users can send to their Facebook friends for their birthday or any occasion. The DailyGifts can be sent to any Facebook friend by any member of the service.

"MyGiftWand DailyGifts are a way for us to show users how fun and easy it is to send free eGift Cards though our service," said Tyler Roye, CEO of GroupGifting.com. "Once they try it they are very likely to come back and use the service again."

"MyGiftWand DailyGifts are the perfect antidote for retailers that are tired of the negative side effects of daily deals", said Roye. "Some retailers are finding that they are not gaining loyal, new customers with the deep discounts provided via daily deal services, and now realize that many consumers are just waiting for the next big discount to hit their inbox," he added.

Many of the daily deal sites have come under pressure recently from business owners complaining about a variety of issues; some have complained about the cost of using leading daily deal services, while others are finding it difficult to return prices to viable levels after offering such deep discounts. "Companies want to try new things to promote their brands and new innovations like MyGiftWand DailyGifts will keep coming from creative companies like ours", said Roye. "We have learned from the experiences in the marketplace over the past few years and bring our new service as a fresh alternative."

The company points out that the economics of the DailyGifts model are much more attractive than those of a typical daily deal. "DailyGifts are also inherently more social, creating good will for the brand among a large group of people who can see and join the group gift process on Facebook", said Roye.

DailyGifts are announced each day via the company’s official Facebook fan page and Twitter accounts. Users are encouraged to follow those postings so that they do not miss out on the deals. As with any of the company’s promotions, friends can send these free eGift Cards in just a few clicks, or they can opt to make a contribution and increase the card's value before posting the gift to the recipient's Facebook wall. Once posted, their other friends can join in the celebration and contribute to the card, making it a group gift.

"We are working with our partners to get more DailyGifts into the system so there are enough offers available to satisfy the growing daily demand," said Roye.

The DailyGifts are available on the Android app recently launched by the company and soon will be available on the iPhone app scheduled to launch in early July. The mobile apps serve as a digital wallet for storing eGift Cards so they can be redeemed at the retailer’s brick and mortar location. Users can quickly and easily send, contribute to and redeem cards on the go.

For retailers the MyGiftWand service is designed to unlock the potential of commerce in social spaces. "What we have developed is a true friend-to-friend marketing solution" said Roye. "The service can be used to reach completely new groups of customers or as a tool for brands monetize prior social investments by activating a powerful social chain reaction through their own fan base." The service is completely performance based because retailers only pay a fee for the service when the recipient comes to the store and uses the card, making it a true Cost-Per-Acquisition model.

"We have some exciting things happening in conjunction with our DailyGifts in the very near future," said Roye. "Stay tuned."
