GroupGifting.com Adds 17 eGift Cards to MyGiftWand

Melville, NY - (May 18, 2012) - Today, GroupGifting.com announced the addition of 17 new eGift Card brands to the 20 major brands available at the launch of the MyGiftWand social gifting service only two weeks ago, including:

"We are working hard to provide more choices for users of any age and gender in any area of the country", said Tyler Roye, CEO of GroupGifting.com.  The company intends to continue expanding the offerings significantly in the coming months.

In just 4 clicks, Facebook members can give their friends a free gift with a birthday wish. If a user wants to add some more money to the gift they can also make a contribution and increase the card's value.  The gift gets posted to the recipient's Facebook wall so their other Facebook friends can see what's happening and join in the celebration by making a contribution of their own, turning it into a group gift.

With signed deals to sell more than 200 major brands, the company is now looking within their partner base to strike deals with retailers looking to use eGift Cards as a tool to drive customer acquisition through social gifting. The service helps retailers leverage the social network to reach a target demographic by offering an incentive if the gift recipient meets their target demographic. The location, age and gender of the recipient determine what offers are available.

"We have created a system that is helping retailers unlock the potential of commerce in social spaces; a true friend-to-friend marketing solution," added Roye.

Each day a new batch of available free cards is released.  The company refers to these cards as DailyGifts.  "As the use of our site is starting to spread virally we are in a race to get more DailyGifts in the system so there are enough offers available to satisfy the demand," said Roye.

The company is positioning itself as a more social alternative to Groupon.  "The service is completely performance based because the retailers only pay us a fee for our service when that targeted recipient comes to the store and uses the card, making us a true Cost-Per-Acquisition model," added Roye.  In addition to being paid a success fee for delivering the target customer, GroupGifting.com makes money on commissions we receive for selling the retailers' eGift Cards.

A fully embedded Facebook app as well as mobile apps for Android and iPhone are in the works.

The mobile apps will enable users to send, contribute to, receive and redeem cards on the go.  The apps will also act as a digital wallet to store the eGift Cards. “With all of the excitement around the Facebook IPO, everyone is talking about social and mobile commerce and we are excited to be bringing a service to market that delivers on both fronts”, added Roye.
