eGifter Adds Google Plus Option to its Social Gifting App

ORLANDO, FL - (March 5, 2013) – GroupGifting.com, the developers of eGifter, the web and mobile social gifting app, today launched its integration with Google Plus at the PREPAID EXPO in Orlando, Florida. This comes just one day after the company launched its LinkedIn option. eGifter users can now send digital gift cards to the people in their Google Plus Circles.

"We are stepping up the game again with our Google Plus integration," said Tyler Roye, co-founder and CEO of GroupGifting.com, the developer of eGifter. "We have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Google Plus API which came last week, so we wasted no time in adding this new option."

A Google Plus user will have the same experience as Facebook and LinkedIn users, including the option to select a digital gift card from over 100 national brands, and personalize the gift with a message. Some gift cards available in eGifter have special offers or bonuses attached, used by merchants to acquire new customers while driving sales of their eGift card.

The app also allows users to add their Gmail contacts with just one additional click. "While we anticipate that Google Plus will significantly grow its member base in the coming months, adding the Gmail contacts option makes the Google option even more useful today," said Roye. Users can optionally notify recipients via text.

"It’s all about giving the consumer options and giving our merchant partners’ ubiquitous coverage across the social networks," said Tracey Klein, VP of Business Development. "The new Google Plus option makes eGifter the most versatile social gifting app in the market."

In the next release, gift givers will be able to invite other Google Plus users who may want to contribute to a gift, making it a group gift. A user will also be able to invite friends from different social networks—Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google Plus—to contribute to one gift, as well as invite these same users via email and text. "We also plan to have the next release include the ability to send the gift as a notification in the recipient’s Google Home Stream," said Klein.
